On the first night of our December 2023 trip, just before our dinner reservations at the Shard, Rob convinced me that we were going for a private tour.

After we listened to the factoids about the building, we were brought to the floor for our champagne 🍾 🥂toast and for pictures 📷 of the Tower Bridge. I saw the red carpet, flower petals and marry me sign that led me to stop in my tracks and whisper to Rob “I think someone is getting engaged.” And Rob replying “yes my dear … you.”

The tears flowed and it was the perfect proposal to which I said yes.

Our children each selected a song in our proposal playlist. 🎵.

Rob had a beautiful speech, roses, champagne and an engagement photographer. His planning was perfect!

We then discovered how much the British celebrates engagements with free desserts all week. 🇬🇧🎂🍨

Sophie and Rob share the same birthday. Something Sara has in common with her younger brother, Ben, born 7 years after her.

If all else fails, Rob will feed the family

Summer time is full of outdoor activities both in the Beaches and at Rob’s cottage.
